We are staying at the Centara Chaan Talay Hotel which is actually in the middle of nowhere and is less than 1 kilometre from Cambodia as the crow flies which happens to be over a rather large hill. The hotel is located on the beach and as access to the beach is via the hotel, it is effectively a private beach. The hotel is not new, which has advantages and disadvantages. The one-bedroom apartments are spacious with a huge terrace but rather dated. On the other hand, they are pretty well maintained and exceptionally clean. The whole property is set in rather beautiful mature grounds but the beach is the crowning glory. Pristine, because hotel staff clean it every day, with white soft sand and a glorious warm sea., it is a beach lovers dream. After one day here, we already wish we could spend more time here than the 3 nights we have booked. Make no mistake that this is a get-away-from-it-all hotel, but we already feel that we will be back.
