The weather was superb today as it was yesterday also. Ann decide a day on the beach was in order and I wanted to visit the fishing village of Mai Rot only about 10 km from our hotel. The village is situated on both sides of a sheltered inlet and is fascinating. It was very quiet and indeed many of the residents could be seen hanging in hammocks or just generally relaxing. Most were elderly and I guess they have all had their time out to sea fishing. However, many fishing boats were still in harbour but I also imagined that many were also out at sea. I strolled up both sides of the inlet and met some of the residents who were all very friendly.
