The highlight for today was to be our sunset boat trip around the Khlongs (canals) of Thonburi which is the part of Bangkok on the west side of the Chao Phraya River. Ann spent the day shopping whilst I went off to Chinatown again. Later, we both set off to meet Sally who had organised the trip and two other friends Conrad and Nicole. As we arrived at the pier, the heavens opened. We set off in torrential rain and were all completely soaked in minutes! It is supposed to be the dry season in Bangkok and we hadn't even thought of the possibility it might rain. The strange thing was that the sun was actually shining the whole time albeit weakly which gave a rather strange glow.

Below are some photos of Chinatown, especially around the Khlong Ong Ang Canal and area that has recently been beautified.
