Singapore shophouses

Part of Singapore's heritage are the shophouses that are still prevalent in many areas despite the additional of many modern skyscrapers to the city's skyline. As in other parts of Asia, such as Phuket and Penang the traditional shophouse is in a row and has a narrow frontage. the so called "five foot way" is a covered passage running across the front of the building. They usually have skylights and an internal courtyard. Malay, Chinese and European influences can all be seen in this rich, architectural style.

Phetchabun farm workers

Phetchabun is a province the the lower part of Northern Thailand. The River Pa Sak flows through the area which has created a fertile valley. Agriculture is therefore an important industry. Farm workers can often be seen preparing, planting and harvesting crops.

Wat Pho, Bangkok, Thailand

Wat Pho,Wat Po, Wat Phra Chetuphon, Temple of the Reclining Buddha are all names for the famous temple in the Phra Nakhon District of Bangkok close to the Grand Palace. Built by King Rama 1, the complex has the largest collection of Buddha images including the 46 metre long reclining buddha.
