A Virtual Tour of Thailand Samut Songkhram Province
All this virtual touring has made us feel a bit hungry so we have dropped in at the floating market at Amphawa in Samut Songkhram province which is about 60km west of Bangkok. This is more of a local Thai floating market than the very touristy Damnoen Saduak one.

A Virtual Tour of Thailand - Bangkok
Bangkok is, of course, the largest and capital city of Thailand and is located in the centre of the country on the Chao Phraya river. Millions of tourists visit each year to take sights such as the Grand Palace, Wat Arun and the magnificent Wat Pho, the home of Thai massage. It is located next to the Grand Palace and is, of course, a massive tourist attraction. The place is beautiful with many stunning structures.

Virtual Tour of Thailand - Chumphon Province
Chumphon Province
Chumphon is a Southern Province on the Gulf of Thailand and is not really on the tourist map although some intrepid tourists have discovered its latent charms. There are some beautiful beaches of which the largely undeveloped Thung Wua Len pictured above is one. The province is famous for its coffee and there are also many durian fruits and coconut plantations. The province is known as the “Gateway to the South”.

A virtual tour of Thailand - Chiang Rai Province
Chiang Rai Province
This is the fairytale castle-like Wat Rong Khun on the outskirts of Thailand’s second-largest city. The original temple has been completely renovated by Chalermchai Kositpipat, a local artist from Chiang Rai, using his own finances. The project is ongoing and is used to promote Buddhist teachings. The temple has become a huge tourist attraction and receives hundreds of thousands of visitors a year.
